Our Story

My name’s Victoria and I am Little Green Tree!

I create up-cycled vintage jewellery from my little workshop in West Yorkshire.

It all started back in 2017 with my love for collecting antique pieces of jewellery. One day, while rooting through some drawers in an antique shop, I stumbled across some sterling silver cutlery, which to me, looked just as beautiful as the Victorian jewellery I’d spent years collecting.

The drawer was brimming with spoons, knives, forks and other quirky little bits of tableware, all decorated with intricate patterns, symbols, and emblems.

The shop owner said that people rarely bought them for any other purpose than to melt them down for other uses. I didn’t know what to say, so much history and craftsmanship sitting in a drawer or being lost to the modern world of manufacturing didn’t sit right with me…

So, I bought them.

After a few months of saving cutlery, my husband told me that storing old cutlery in the attic, under the stairs and in numerous drawers around the house wasn’t sustainable, and that I needed a way to give them a new life; that was our lightbulb moment!

Turning a spoon handle into a ring

So, after spending time with a wonderful Silver Smith and learning everything that I needed to know, I came home and started working on my plan to turn antique cutlery into beautiful, usable, unique, and timeless pieces of jewellery.

My passion comes from preserving history and giving old things a new lease of life, so they can continue to tell their story; not quite as they were originally intended, but better!

When I’m not hammering away at Victorian kitchenware or trying to find lost spoons, I’m fussing my four cats and spending time with my wonderful husband who has become my assistant / accountant for Little Green Tree; I get to have all the fun!

I hope you love my jewellery as much as I enjoy making it.
